About

Elizabeth Thacker Jones, Founder & Director

Elizabeth Jones grew up in Westchester County, New York on everything bagels, fro-yo and microwave pizza. She graduated from Oberlin College in 2002 and is currently pursuing her MA in Food Studies at NYU. At age 19, Elizabeth landed her first cooking gig at an experimental performance space, The Kitchen, where she cooked vegan fare for visionaries such as Meredith Monk. She still cherishes the moment when Philip Glass told her she made the best lentils he’d ever eaten. Jones has since worked for architect David Rockwell, led bike tours through Sonoma’s wine country, and farmed sturgeon in California and Idaho with the James Beard Award-winning Tsar Nicoulai Caviar. More recently, Elizabeth curated the Union Square Pavilion with Greenmarket/GrowNYC and has performed as a yogurt-inoculating nurse in Jennifer Rubell’s Incubation at Miami’s Art Basel. While eating, reading, and cycling as much as she can, Elizabeth also works as a media and marketing strategist.
